Kailash Mansarovar Tour

Your holy tour to the majestic Kailash massif and Lake Mansarovar will start by arriving at Kathmandu. Enjoying the bird’s view of lofty snow-capped mountains and landscapes, you’ll get to the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu.

After arriving in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can rest and relax. Also, if you have some time before night, you can explore the city.

You can go on a short tour around the sacred and historic sites of the city such as Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath Stupa, following a hearty Nepalese meal at your hotel.

You will also be taken on a tour of Doleshwornath Temple, Saga Shiva Statue, and Budhanilkantha Temple, giving you a spiritual experience. There will also be many pilgrims doing puja which is a sight to observe.

With a filling breakfast, we’ll head to the revered Pashupatinath Temple, a holy place dedicated to lord Shiva. You’ll witness the holy pujas and many revered ceremonies the worshipers perform there.

Pashupatinath is also home to local monkeys so watch out for them!

Moreover, in the evening, we’ll come to Pashupatinath to observe the moving Aarti, performed by the priests here.

We’ll leave Kathmandu today with a bus/private vehicle ride to Kerung lasting about 8 hours. Though the ride will be long, the beautiful scenery of the landscapes, lush forests, terraced farmlands, and passing villages, keeps the drive exciting.

Continuing on the drive, you’ll reach Rasuwagadhi a border town, where you will complete immigration procedures and enter Tibet. After crossing the border, with a short drive, you’ll reach Kerung, your first Tibetian town of the journey.

We’ll spend a day in Kerung for acclimatization and resting purposes. We can spend the day exploring the town of Kerung, and nearby sites, and taking short walks. Also, take this time to go over your papers, and other equipment necessary for the upcoming tour.

We’ll set off early on a bus ride towards Saga through the Tibetan Plateau, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas including Shisha Pangma massif, local villages, and stunning landscapes.

Moreover, the views of Pikucho Lake and the Brahmaputra River, where you will take a holy dip, will leave you captivated. Moving on the route, we reach Saga, known as the happy land.

On this day, we’ll get to Parayang, a small town with desert terrain, holding stunning scenery of snow-covered peaks, grasslands, and surrounding landscapes. With a good 7-hour ride, enjoying the scenery beside us, we reach Paranyang.

Parayang is yet another major checkpoint in our holy Kailash Mansarovar Tour.

Finally, on the eighth day, we’ll move on our journey to the holy Mansarovar Lake. We’ll ride on a winding path with rough terrain offering views of the towering mountains throughout the drive.

After about 5-6 hours on the road, we’ll finally see Mansarovar. The serene environment and tranquil water reflecting the surrounding peak are truly a sight to see. We’ll stop for a moment here, immersing ourselves in the splendid vista of lake and the Mount Kailash before us.

Next with immense admiration of the lake, we’ll head to Tsu Gompa following the left of the holy river. Finally reaching the shorelines of the lake, we take a divine touch of the lake water which is said to be the purest.

We offer our prayers taking in the reverence and spiritual feelings and prepare for the night.

Before breakfast, you will visit the lake and take a holy dip in the lake which will be a great spiritual experience. Then, some rituals like pujas and havans worshipping Lord Shiva will also be performed to complete this journey to Mansarovar Lake.

Now with gratitude and reverence, we’ll head to Darchen. Darchen, a small town near the base of Mount Kailash is the starting point for Kailash Yatra, where you will spend the night.

The next 3 days mark the epitome of our pilgrimage. We’ll embark on a sacred parikrama of Mount Kailash starting with a trek to Dirapuk. Walking on rugged terrain, we’ll take in the majestic view of Mount Kailash.

Then the next day, we’ll continue the trek to Zuthulphuk following the path around Kailash mountain. Moreover, on the route, we also come across the sacred site of Dolma La Pass, a place with spiritual significance for pilgrims.

The following day, we finish the remaining portion as we trek back to Darchen.

During the entirety of the yatra, we get an awe-inspiring view of the towering Mount Kailash. The majestic sight of Kailash and the spiritual energy around it will truly feel like some divine deity, Lord Shiva inhabits the massif.

With hearts full of devotion, we bid farewell to Mount Kailash, with its sacred presence forever in our hearts.

Finishing the reverend tour around the Kailash mountain, we get back to Darchen today. Following the same road as before we reach Darchen, where we’ll stop for a meal before taking a bus ride back to Saga.

After breakfast, we set out on our ride to Kerung. Moving along the same picturesque path, we enjoy the majestic landscapes, peaks, and soaring rivers once again.

Upon arriving in Kerung, feel free to relax at your hotel reflecting on the wonderful journey you’ve had, or explore the town witnessing the traditions of the inhabitants of this peaceful village.

Crossing the Tibetian border, we leave for Kathmandu today. After about 7 hours on the road, passing by stunning landscapes, terraced farms, lush forests, and villages we’ll find ourselves in Kathmandu City.

As we approach Kathmandu City, we’ll bid goodbye to the green sceneries, shifting into more of an urban environment with busy streets, many houses, and others.
