Helambu Trek is 8 days long, where we get immersed in its natural beauty, mesmerizing landscapes, inviting climate, and many more.
Our Journey begins with an hour-long drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. While on the drive you have a glimpse of oak tree and rhododendron woodland. Also, the spellbinding waterfall of Sundarijal makes it a perfect picnic destination stop.
Thenceforth, Our trekking journey begins, we trek from Sundarijali to Chisapani. Along your way, you will come across Shivapuri National Park and Mulkhara, Mulkhara is a tamang town. Here, we get to observe the traditional culture and lifestyle of the Tamang people.
Upon reaching Mulkhara we will take a quick snack break to replenish our energy for upcoming treks. Helambu Trek does not consist of a major checkpoint, like a major viewpoint because every stop of Helambu Trek is equally majestic. However, Tharepati could stand out a little bit more.
Coming back to Treks, We will go on a series of treks hereafter, Chisapani to Kutumsang, Kutumsang to Melamchigaon, Melamchigaon to Sermathang, and lastly, Sermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar.
Each Destination stop will have its unique beauty. In Chisapani we get to have a stunning sight of Langtang Himal range. Afterward, we stroll upon Tharepati, Tharepati is the highest altitude point of our entire journey. Tharepati offers a majestic view of towering mountain ranges emerging from the mist of clouds. It display’s encompassing panoramic view of beautiful mountain ranges.
Furthermore, along our way, we will get the heavenly sight of the Langtang range, Gosaikunda Peak, and Jugal Himal. During sunrise, the view of the Himalayan range will be further enhanced making its view aesthetically unmatched.
Along the way, we come across Melamchigaon, a village inhabited by Sherpa. Here, you will be amazed by their unique way of lifestyle and their traditional culture. Also, several tea shops and cafes would be present along our journey, perfect for quick relaxation.
Now after witnessing all these heavenly places you will have to drive for about 4 to 5 hours escorting you back to Kathmandu. This will be the end of our beautiful journey. Although this journey may be short it will have a special part in your memory.
Now, talking about the difficulty of this trek, the Helambu Trek is not difficult, this trek is placed in the beginner category in the trek difficult scale. With a physically fit body and strong mentality, this trek would be a piece of cake.

Itinerary
After you arrive in Kathmandu, your crew will be ready to receive you at the airport. They will help you get to the hotel and give a brief outline of your itinerary. After that, feel free to tour the city, buy essential necessities, or just simply unwind at the hotel.
Your trek will officially start today with a bus/jeep ride to Sundarijal, a location with beautiful oak and rhododendron forests. The drive will take about an hour, and after a short break, you’ll begin your hike to Chisapani.
The hike is short and passes through local farmlands, lush forests, and the beautiful settlement of Borlang Bhanjyang. You’ll also get beautiful vistas of several peaks such as the Langtang Range, Ganesh Himal, Himal Chuli, Gauri Shanker, Rolwaling, Dorje Lakpa, and others
We’ll continue our trek today towards Kutumsang through charming meadows and farmland. Continuing on, we’ll reach Thankune Bhanjyang, then Chipling before reaching a ridge after about 1.5 hours of climbing.
Thereon, from a descending path, we’ll get to Kutumsang, a village with traditional homes nestled amidst misty slopes. Kutumsang offers stunning views of Dorje Lhakpa’s pyramid-shaped peak, terraced farms, and woodlands.
Today, you’ll be passing Thadepati Bhanjyang, the highest point on your Helambu Circuit Trek. You’ll trek through gradual ascending and descending trails while the views before you of the Langtang range, Gosaikunda Peak, and Jugal Himal get clearer, as you get closer to today’s destination, Melamchigaon.
Moving on, we’ll start moving downwards from Melamchigaon passing through many Buddhist settlements such as Nakote, Dozum, and Chiri, visiting monasteries present there, and getting to know the culture of the local people.
Continuing on the path, we’ll make our way to Setighyang, Ghangyul, and ultimately arriving at Sermathang. Sermathang is a beautiful village with stunning scenery.
After breakfast, your hike begins with a descent through rice fields and expansive green meadows. Passing through charming villages like Kakani and Thimbu, you’ll gradually leave Sermanthang behind.
You’ll witness the shifting scenery as you approach Melamchi Pul Bazaar, a Sherpa settlement, with chortens and mani walls.
You’ll take a short ride back to Kathmandu, after breakfast today. This will be the last day of the trek, as you take in the views of towering hills, smooth-flowing rivers and streams, terraced farmlands, and various animals.
You’ll also witness the changing background, as you start getting closer to Kathmandu.
This will be the last of your Helambu Trek. You will be escorted back to the airport.
