Cho Oyu Expedition is a thrilling journey that brings out the world’s sixth highest mountain in the world, Cho Oyu (8201 meters) making it aesthetically pleasing as well. Furthermore, Cho Oyu is considered a relatively easy journey compared to other mountain expeditions, however, it is still challenging. 

Cho Oyu unveils the immaculate panoramic vistas of snow-capped mountain peaks. Moreover, Cho Oyu is also called Goddess of Turquoise as it renders out bluish green color due to the rays of sunrise. 

Cho Oyu Mountain is about 30 km west of Mount Everest. So it is most likely you will get a glimpse of a mountain somewhere in your journey. Cho Oyu expedition is a 38-day journey that commences with a long drive from Kathmandu to Rasuwaghadi.

Our drive will be along the Nepal-China border, flaunting beautiful scenery of farmlands, small villages, picturesque landscapes, and deep forests. Thenceforth, we step on another ride from Rasuwaghadi to Gyirong and then to Gyirong to Tingiri. Here we will be enjoying captivating views of towering mountain ranges. 

Thereafter a couple of long drives we reach Advanced Base Camp. Along our way to Advanced Base Camp, we will be passing through Nangpa La Pass, where we will enjoy the mesmerizing view of Nangpa La Glacier and Gyachung Kang, a place with the clearest view of Cho Oyu Mountain. 

Advanced Base Camp will be our gateway to the summit of Cho Oyu. So, here we pack and look for all the essential gear needed for our expedition. It will take around 20 days to reach the Cho Oyu peak and return to Advanced Base Camp. 

On our way to the Cho Oyu, we will go through three camps which will be our resting stop. We will rest in each camp to acclimatize and revitalize our energy. You will face a 35-38 degree inclination on your journey so be prepared for steep slippery ascents.

After a long challenging hike, we finally reached the top of Cho Oyu. The summit of Cho Oyu brings in the majestic view of snow-white clouds lined with lofty mountains including, Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and many other Himalayan peaks.

Standing on top of Cho Oyu and beholding the grandeur of these gigantic mountains will be a lifetime enthralling memory. 

After experiencing the sublimity of Cho Oyu mountain, we returned back to Advanced Base Camp and retraced our way back to Kathmandu, following a series of long beautiful drives, Advanced Base Camp to Chinese Base Camp, Chinese Base Camp to Gyirong, Gyirong to Rasuwaghadi, and ultimately Rasuwaghadi to Kathmandu.  

This will be a relaxing drive allowing you to savour every beautiful moment. Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, it will be the of your delightful journey to the summit of Cho Oyu mountain.  

Furthermore, it is mandatory that you have a Chinese government permit and other additional permits for your guides and staff.
