Tharpu Chuli is a well-known trending trekking destination located in the southern part of Annapurna Base Camp. The Himalayan range of Tharpu Chuli resembles the shape of a tent hence, it got its name, Tharpu Chuli (Tent) Peak Climbing. Among the majestic mountain ranges in the Annapurna region, Tent Peak is one of them.
Moreover, Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing is ideal for relatively beginner trekkers who want to explore Annapurna Base Camp, but have less experience. Tent Peak Climb’s altitude peak is relatively lower about 5600 m relative to Annapurna Base Camp.

Tharpu Chuli is an 18-day long trek that starts with a drive/flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Here we will get to see the beauty of the Trishuli River. After arriving at Pokhara, we explore Pokhara enjoying its Phewa Lake and its peaceful environment. We spent our night there.
From the next day, our true journey begins! We will consistently proceed on multiple treks to achieve our primary checkpoint, Annapurna Base Camp. We will be trekking from Naya Pul to Ghandruk, Ghandruk to Chhomrong, Chhomrong to Dobhan/Himalaya Hotel, Himalaya Hotel to Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC), then Finally Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC) to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).
It is a long journey but is totally worth it. Each stage of our journey has its own unique ambiance enhanced by enticing scenery. Firstly, we come across Ghandruk, a resting hub for trekkers. While on a trek to Ghandruk, we will be getting a constant adrenaline rush due to the expansive views of the mountains.
Also, here in Ghandruk village, you get an opportunity to learn/immerse into their traditional culture and their unique way of lifestyle. Another major attraction point is Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC).
Trek To Machapucahre Base Camp could be troublesome but the mesmerizing panoramic view of mountain ranges is undeniably worth it! Here at Machapuchare Base Camp, you see a broad view of Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, and Gangapurna.
Lastly, our destination stop, Annapurna Base Camp, it’s name itself is enough to give out its charming beauty. The trailhead to Annapurna Base Camp is a little bit challenging yet the fabulous view of mountain peaks will keep your strength high.
Here, we get the serene view of Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli, and Gangapurna mountains. These mountains display would be worth your hard work. After this, we will be on track to our final destination, Tent Peak Climbing.
On Annapurna Base Camp we take a rest to replenish our energy and let our body acclimatize to high altitude. Tent Peak Climbing could be intimidating, however, the unreal view of Tent Peak climbing will justify it.
On the next day, we will be trekking upwards towards the Tent Peak. We will be guided by the trails close to the Modi Khola. Through a strenuous hike passing icy terrain for at least 5 hours, we reach Tent Peak Base Camp. Thereafter another 6 hours of challenge trek with well over 70 degrees incline, we finally reach the summit of Tharpu Chuli (Tent Peak).
The encompassing mountain view from Tent Peak would be astounding. You are bound to feel overwhelmed at the summit. Let this be one of your life achievements as the immaculate view from Tent Peak would surely be a place hard to forget. Well done! For your hard journey.
Hereafter we will be in a continuous descent from tent Base Camp to ABC, ABC to Bamboo, bamboo to Jhinu Dada, and Jhinu Dada to Pokhara. Then you will fly/drive back to Kathmandu enjoying beautiful views along the way.
