Annapurna I Expedition is a blend of excitement and jaw-dropping scenery in the mountaineering world. Annapurna is cradled in the north-central Himalayas of Nepal with six major peaks: Annapurna I (8,091 meters), Annapurna II(7,937 meters), Annapurna III(7,555 meters), Annapurna IV (7,525 meters), Gangapurna (7,455 meters) and Annapurna South (7,219 meters).
This Expedition takes you to the world’s 10th-highest peak, standing 8091 meters tall and enveloped in the grandeur of the Himalayas. Nevertheless, there is a price to pay to experience Annapurna’s greatness. You have to go through some of the most rugged terrain and sharp slippery ascents.
Furthermore, the Annapurna I Expedition is crowned as the most difficult mountain to climb. So, only experienced climbers with proper training are recommended for this journey.
Many routes will reach Annapurna I however, the most commonly used route is North-West Face. Annapurna I Expedition is a 54-day long journey compacted with breathtaking vistas. Our journey embarks with a long wonderful drive or short flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Moreover, Upon arrival at Pokhara, we lead our way to Annapurna Base Camp through the veils of dense forest and astonishing snowy mountain view. Treks are; Nayapul to Tikhedhunga, Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani, Ghorepani to Tatopani passing through Poonhill, Tatopani to Ghasa, Ghasa to Lete, Lete to Tthulo Bugin Campsite, Thulp Bugin to Hum Khola, Hum Khola to Miristi Khola, and finally to Annapurna Base Camp.
On our journey to Annapurna Base Camp, we go through numerous places with sublime natural beauty. Firstly, we come across a village called Birethanti. Birethanti is a picturesque village enchanted with its customs and crafts. Also, a majestic glimpse of the Modi and Bhurungdi rivers could be sighted from this Village.
Moving on, we will be accompanied by Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchhre throughout our way, clearly seen on Ghorepani and Tadapani. Talking about Ghorepani, we feast our eyes on the divine view of Poonhill’s viewpoint at Ghorepani.
Here in Poonhill, we get the encompassing 360-degree view of several snow-capped mountain ranges, Annapurna at 8,091m, Dhaulagiri at 8,127, Annapurna South at 7,219 Meters, Machapuchare at 6,993 Meters, Hinchuli, Annapurna III, Dhampus peak, Dhaulagiri II, and many other towering peaks.
Lastly, we reach Annapurna Base Camp, the point from where our expedition starts. Here we prepare ourselves for the upcoming challenging journey whilst enjoying the splendid panorama of the Annapurna Region Massif with Hiuchuli and Mt. Fishtail.
It will take about 22 days for us to reach the summit of Annapurna I and come back to the base camp. On our way to Annapurna I, we will be settling multiple high-altitude base camps. Also, We will take several acclimatization and rest days judging the weather conditions.
It will be a hard journey to the summit of Annapurna nevertheless, the immaculate scenery will be equally rewarding. The view from the summit of Annapurna is like a heaven place inside the earth.
After our successful journey to Annapurna, we retreat to Annapurna Base Camp replenishing all the challenges we overcame. After arriving at Annapurna Base Camp we lead our way back to Pokhara following these treks, Annapurna Base Camp to Miristi, Miristi to Thulo Bugin Campsite, Thulo Bugin Campsite to Lete, Lete to Ghasa, Ghasa to Tatopani, and eventually Tatopani to Pokhara.
On our way back to Pokhara from Annapurna Base Camp we will again recapture all the mesmerizing views. Upon arrival at Pokhara, we take a scenic drive/flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
This will be the end of your Annapurna I Expedition, which will have an everlasting memory, fresh to savor at any time. Also, it is a big achievement to reach the summit of Annapurna I. So be proud of yourself.
