The Gosaikunda Trek located at 4,300 meters, is a well-liked trek for both nature travelers and pilgrims. However, this trek involves steep ascents and lengthy walks to reach Gosaikunda, making it a challenging journey.
Embarking on this 7-day Gosaikinda Trek promises you the breathtaking mountainous landscapes of Nepal. You get to experience the awe-inspiring scenery and immerse yourself in the rich beauty of this country, deepening your connection with its breathtaking scenery along the way.
Throughout the journey, you will witness many rhododendron forests, rivers, streams, and villages. This trek presents you with an awesome vista of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung Annapurna, and many more.
Our Gosaikunda Trek commences from Kathmandu to Dhunche via a bus journey from Machha Pokhari Bus station offering a scenic route dotted with charming settlements and lush meadows lining the path alongside the majestic Trisuli River. Dhunche serves as the administrative hub of Rasuwa District, located within a small settlement.
Afterward, we will be going on two treks to reach Gosaikunda, Dhunche to Chandanwari, and Chandanwari to Gosaikunda.
The trail from Dhunche to Chandanwari leads us to a small village named Deurali. Deurali offers several tea houses where we can unwind and take a snack break to recharge our energy for further journeys.
After a good rest, we will traverse the trek route and come across the tranquil village of Dhimsa after crossing streams and waterfalls. Hike from here onwards might be a bit difficult but upon reaching our destination, we are greeted by the serene beauty of Chandanwari, also known as Sing Gompa as we pass through the majestic pine trees. Chandanwari attracts travelers and locals alike with the allure of a monastery and the tantalizing aroma of yak cheese from a local cheese factory.
Our journey continues as we make our way toward the destination of Gosaikunda stopping for a brief moment to respite at the tea house along the way. Gosaikunda is a sacred site revered by Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, holding profound value for adherents of both religions. It is also a famous location for the Langtang Helicopter Tour.
We are also greeted by the dignified panorama of mountains like Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Masalu, and Langtang Ri while hiking up the Gosaikutha. Furthermore, the Sakyamuni temple in Gosaikunda embodies the harmonious blend of Hindu and Buddhist values. Additionally, hiking further we will come up to the splendid lake called Saraswati Kunda followed by Bhairav Kunda and the Mighty Lake Gosaikunda.
After our unforgettable exploration of Gosaiunda, we will bid farewell to its serene waters and embark on our journey back to Dhuche as the majestic vistas once again captivate our senses. Arriving in Dhuncha, we will retreat for the day after our long adventure reflecting on our past few days.
Upon waking up refreshed, we journey back to Kathmandu, where we are once again greeted by the breathtaking scenery along the Trishuli River. As we reflect on our thrilling adventure, we cherish the memories created and the valuable lessons that will guide our future expeditions.
