Mera Peak Climbing.

Your tour agent will receive you at the airport and take you to your chosen hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, after some refreshments, they will give you an overview of your journey.

Following that, you can choose to rest for the day or tour the city during your free time.

The choice is yours on how to spend the day but there will be a guided tour of the city if you like. You’ll be taken on an excursion of Kathmandu City, visiting different cultural heritage sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath, and more.

You can take your time exploring and experiencing the rich cultures and traditions of local people here.

We will begin the tour with a mesmerizing flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, which will take around 30 minutes. You’ll get spectacular views of the settlements, Himalayas, and hills from the flight.

After landing, we will pick a corner of a restaurant in Lukla and begin our hike shortly. Moving through dense woods and crossing a suspension bridge will lead us to Surke, then Chutok La Pass (2,945m) before making it to Paiya, a beautiful village surrounded by lovely scenery of Himalayas like Kongde Ri, Khatang, Tang Ragi Tu, and more.

Crossing a wooden bridge, and walking on a slipper-tight path through the mountains passing through lush forests of rhododendrons and bamboo will take you to Pangkoma, today’s destination.

Pangkoma is a serene and peaceful village offering a grand mountain panorama. whose inhabitants engage in farming and trading to sustain their daily lives.

You’ll also traverse the Kari La Pass at 3,145m while enjoying the scenery en route.

On this day, trekking through tough and rocky paths will get us across the Panggom La Pass. The views from this high pass are surely mesmerizing. You’ll also soak in your first-ever glimpse at the pinnacle point of this journey, the Mera Peak’s south face.

Then, continuing on the path passing dense forests, the long Mani walls, hamlets, and teahouses, we’ll reach Shibuche Village.

With a filled stomach, we’ll ascend along a rugged and narrow trail, often found in the mountainous terrain of Nepal. We’ll move through lush forests with bamboo and rhododendrons, and walk alongside soaring freshwater streams.

Moving forward on this serene trail, you might get the opportunity to witness the native wildlife of this region including the rare red panda. After that, we’ll make our way down through a rocky cave, ultimately arriving at Chhatra Khola.

Advancing beside the trails of the Inkhu Khola to Zartwa La Pass, a hidden gem of the region with mighty views of peaks like Numbur Himal, Kusum Kanguru, Cho Oyu, Kongde Ri, Mera Peak, as well as the Hinku Valley.

From there, continuing on an uphill climb: the primary route to Mera Peak, we’ll pass by several settlements like Tashing Ongma. Mosom Khark, Osila Kharka, and Gondishung.

The hike from Kote to Tangnang will have steep ascents followed by steep descents which may take a toll on us. So, you reach Tangnag safely, we’ll hike at a slow pace taking breaks on the rugged terrain.

Reaching an elevation of 4,358m at Tangnang, we’ll take a day for acclimatization purposes. You’ll spend the day resting at the teahouses enjoying the view of snow-capped peaks.

You can also choose to hike up to Charpate Himal Glacier, which provides a close view of the towering Charpate Himal.

Heading east along the lateral moraine of the Dig Glacier to Dig Kharka, we’ll pass through some more moraines, then get as far as the snout of the Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers. The walk today will be strenuous, and exhausting, but your endeavors will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Charpate Himal and its stunning surroundings as you reach Khare, a serendipitous village at 5,045m height.

Also, on the way, if the conditions are in your favor, you can climb up the moraines to take in the majestic scene of the crystal-clear Sabai Tso Glacial Lake.

Today is the day you’ll get to the High Camp, the closest point to the pinnacle of this journey, the summit of Mera Peak. With a gradual ascent on a gravelly trail, we cross Mera La Pass at 5,415m in height.

After that, we descend to Mera Base Camp, where we’ll stop for some rest and then push toward the high camp. The destination is a pleasant setting with stunning vistas of Mera Peak.

Moreover, later on the day, you’ll be given ice climbing training, and usage of various tools by your guides and instructors.

The long-awaited day is finally here, climbing the Mera Peak. We’ll commence our journey with a surge of excitement beyond anything we’ve felt before via steep and icy tracks.

Following the lead of your guide throughout the grueling climb, you finally reach the summit point of Mera Peak!

You’ll be overwhelmed by the breathtaking scenery of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Nuptse, Chamlang, Baruntse, Ama Dablam, and Kangtega from the summit.

After experiencing the epitome of your journey, you’ll head back to Khare.

Following the exhilarating day, we’ll start retracing our steps back to Kote. we’ll walk through the same trail we took before enjoying the scenery offered by the path.

Today we’ll head toward Thuli Kharka following an ascending and descending trail through dense forests. You’ll also pass by several settlements including Gondishung, Mosom Kharka, Tashing Ongma, and Tashing Dingma.

Progressing along the route, we reach Thuli Kharka, a vantage point with Mera Peak views.

Traversing through Zatrwa La Pass at 4,610m height, we’ll make our way towards Lukla delighting over the captivating panorama of Lukla Valley, Mt. Cho Oyu, Kongde Peak, Numbur Himal, Mt. Kusum Kanguru, and more.

With this, the last trek of your journey comes to an end. You can spend the rest of your time celebrating the success of the trip.

After a hefty breakfast, you’ll take a short but scenic flight back to Kathmandu from the Tenzing-Hillary airport. You’ll witness soul-stirring panoramas of the hills, villages, rivers, and mountains on your 30-minute picturesque flight.

After reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred back to your hotel, where you can relax or explore the bustling streets of the city.

With this, your 17-day-long Mera Peak Climbing tour has come to an end. With a heartfelt farewell from your team, you’ll be taken to the Tribhuwan International Airport for your safe travel back.
