Our journey begins in the heart of Nepal, Kathmandu. From there, we will begin our glorious 9-day trek to the Everest region. We take a short flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding(2642m) and then from Phakding to Namche bazaar(3440m). In a span of 3 days, we have already reached Namche, one of the specialties of the trek.

Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest, is a very infamous trading hub with amazing views of the mountain peaks. Here, you are provided with an incredible opportunity to indulge in the culture and traditions of the Sherpa people. You will be welcomed with warmth as you will get to experience their lifestyle, their food, and their way of life.

Along the way, we make a trek from Namche Bazaar to Thame, Thame to Khumjung, and finally Khumjung to Tengboche. Along the way, we visit some of the oldest monasteries in Nepal such as Khumjung monastery and Tengboche Monastery. Explore the sacred monastery to experience the cultural values of the monks and the serene view of the mountain peaks.

In our journey, we walk through the exciting trails alongside beautiful passes with promising views of the pristine landscapes such as Tesi Lapcha Pass(5755m), Renjo La(5345m), and Nangpa La(5716m). Also, our trails filled with alpine trees with rhododendrons will refresh your energy to continue our journey to the peak.

The trek also allows you to witness the amazing tranquil rivers such as the Dudh Koshi River and Thesyo Khola. The view of the rivers along with the towering mountain peaks is a scene to behold. Also, get to witness the rare and endangered flora and fauna of the region including the red panda, pheasant, rhododendrons, and many more.

After reaching Tengboche, we retrace our path returning to Namche and trek back from Namce to Lukla following the same beautiful trail downhill parting ways with the scenic mountain peaks. Our journey ends at Kathmandu after returning via flight from Lukla completing our 9-day trek.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival at Kathmandu

Our journey begins in the beautiful city of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. You will stay at the hotel of your choice today as we prepare for our trek. You can get a sense of the culture, language, and way of life of the Nepali people by strolling around the busy streets of Thamel in Kathmandu.

Day 2:

Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2642m)

Today, we take a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla viewing incredible scenery of mountain landscapes and the beautiful valleys. After the flight, we will make our way to the Phakding village. On our way, we cross Thado Koshi via a suspension bridge. Moreover, we will also pass Gha village and Chaurikharka village on our way.

We end our journey for today by reaching Phakding which takes about 3 hours. Additionally, on our way to Phakding, we walk alongside the gorgeous Dudh Koshi River and the refreshing view of the mountain peaks.

Day 3:

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m)

For today, we will trek to Namche Bazaar, a historic trading hub, famous for its homemade yak cheese and butter.

In Namche bazaar, you can view the pristine snow-capped mountain peaks and the local inhabitants’ traditional warm hospitality and culture. We trek for around 6-7 hours to reach Namche Bazaar at an altitude of 3450m.

Day 4:

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Thame (3800m)

We continue our trek by reaching Thame from Namche Bazaar today. Leaving behind Namche Bazaar, we take an old Tibetian trade route to reach Thame village (3800m).

On our journey, we will come upon the pristine Thesyo Khola, and after walking a few more hours we reach Thame. Thame monastery is situated in Thame which lies on a high cliff and offers magnificent views of Mt Nuptse, Mt Lhotse, and Mt Everest.

Day 5:

Trek from Thame to Khumjung

Next, our next destination is the beautiful village of Khumjung located at the height of 3785m. On our journey, we can witness the trail to Tesi Lapcha Pass(5755m), Renjo La(5345m), and Nangpa La(5716m). Then, we will travel down a rocky trail until we meet a scenic ridge which we climb passing by a rich, refreshing forest trail encompassing cypress, pine, and juniper bushes.

After 3-4 hours of walking, passing Phurte village, we finally reach Khumjung village. Khumju village provides an excellent viewpoint covered with beautiful landscapes and a panoramic view of the mountain. Additionally, other popular exploration points of this area are Khumjung Monastery and Khumjung Hillary School.

Day 6:

Trek from Khumjung to Tengboche

Today, we trek from Khumjung to Tengboche(3860m), home to one of the largest monasteries of Nepal inhabited by the Sherpa community, the Tengboche Monastery. Also, our journey today promises incredible views of mountain peaks such as Ama Dablam, Kantega, Everest, and Lhotse.

Later, after passing Phunki Thanga, our trail gets filled with colorful rhododendrons which makes our journey very rewarding. After traveling for around 4-5 hours, we reach Tengboche Monastery where we will be spending our night at a Teahouse. On our way, we can also witness some rare flora and faunas including Red pandas, pheasants, and many more.

Day 7:

Trek from Tengboche to Namche

Starting today, we start to head back by retracing our path to Namche. And, we will be accompanied by the same beautiful trails with a serene panoramic view of the mountain peaks. After 4-5 hours of descent, we reach back to Namche from Tengboche. Moreover, there are still a lot of things you can do at Namche.

In Namche, we can celebrate the success of your journey on the Everest Panorama trek. Here, you can trek around the village in the evening to take a little stroll around the village and buy souvenirs. We enjoy our last day at Namche taking in final glimpses of the mesmerizing views of the mountain peaks up close.

Day 8:

Trek from Namche to Lukla

Our glorious journey comes to an end today as we make our way back to Lukla. We walk alongside the same trail from which we began our ascend to Tengboche. Our trail consists of a combination of uphill and downhill before a steep uphill climb before reaching Lukla. After 6-7 hours of trekking, we reach Lukla where we will be spending our night.

Day 9:

Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

Today, we part ways with the incredible journey we have been part of. We have completed our trek having reached Tengboche traveling a beautiful trail viewing scenic pristine rivers, beautiful monasteries, and towering mountain peaks on the way.

We take a short flight back to Kathmandu where we will be staying at the hotel overnight. Our 9-day journey to explore the Everest region has brought us closer to nature. We have walked through the trails of the Himalayan foothills accompanied by the serene landscape of the mountain peaks on our way.

This journey has been a piece of unforgettable memory.
